I loved the atmosphere. Makes you feel like you're not in America lol Our bar tender Aaron was sooooo nice and cool. He made our drinks and they were delicious. We did have the crab dip and it was yummy. We absolutely want to go back and try the different drinks.

The only reason I am giving this place a 4 star rating is because I was not really informed on what to expect here. It's a Tiki Bar...emphasis on BAR. I assumed it was more restaurant than BAR. My oversight completely. This is SUCH A FUN PLACE! It's kind of a Rain tree restaurant vibe minus the food. Super fun interior..dark with a lot of stereotypical greenery, Hawaiian "art" and very cozy! Waitstaff impeccable. Our waitress was super attentive and knew the menu of both food and drink like the back of her hand. I ordered a typical Mai Tai and it was fruity and delish then a Pearl Diver ( RUM, flower infused and cream) also delish. Other drinks ordered by my day drinker friends; Pain Killer (Rum and citrus), Jungle Crane (Rum, bitters, cane sugar and pineapple). We ordered a couple other drinks but by this time we lost track and were feel'in fine! I also ordered food! Pu Pu platter enough for 3 and delightful, Maguro Poke (Tuna sushi), Spam Musubi (nice surprise and light years better than what you get at the Grocery store but limited to 2 smaller bites). Remember I said I was not well versed on what to expect for the food selection??? Well this is a fun place to have spectacular drinks and yummy theatrical FINGER FOOD to ensure you can drive home after swilling fruity drinks that go down waaaay to easy. The drink menu is entertaining and vast...take your time. They also have dramatic group drinks with many straws I and dry ice. I saw a lot of couples there, maybe first dates and I have to say you couldn't go wrong for a first date venue...I can't think of a better place. I mean if the date does not go well..the light show, that interrupts a few times, would be a great way to break up the uncomfortable silence. This place isn't cheap but hey, you ARE paying for the experience. I don't think anyone could leave this place without a smile (even if it's alcohol induced! LOL). We really enjoyed our time and will go back with proper food expectations. I can't wait! We also booked a reservation which you may want to consider since it isn't a large venue. Cheers!

We had Austin as our server, he made a few suggestions which we appreciated and we tried. Loved it! He was so friendly and fun. We can't wait to go back and try the pineapple cocktail for two

We've been here a few times before but the first time getting food here and was pleasantly surprised. The vibes and theme of this place is so cute and fun but I'm biased since I love tiki themed bars. We got the Banzai Boat shots which were small but strong. The SOS had great theatrical performance behind it where the whole restaurant could see and was nice and fruity but the drink was kind of small to be serving 3-4 people. Finally we got the Pu Pu Platter which was surprisingly tasty. The coconut shrimp was the star here! I loved that they used actual coconut flakes but sad that this was not its own menu item. The taro tots were also crunchy and flavorful. The wings had a very strong wasabi/mustard flavor which make it very spicy. The Crab Lagoon was also fun and fruity with the jam on the side. I would definitely bring friends back here for the experience despite it being quite expensive.

Unique Ambiance. The entrance is in the back. My uber dropped me off at the front of the building and I walked around and saw it on my left-hand side. Pull the barn door back and you'll see a long staircase that takes you to down to the bar. There was a host that greeted me right away which was really nice, because for a second I thought I was in the wrong place. This spot offers a fun and immersive ambiance for gatherings, with cool lights, music, and unique decor that transports you outside of Austin. Their taro puffs, possibly called taro tots, were surprisingly delicious. There weren't enough tots in comparison to the amount of sauce (it tasted really good though) that was provided, it's a minor detail, but y'all that was some sauce. Service & Price: The service was adequate for our large work event. Staff checked in a few times, but perhaps due to the party size, we weren't constantly attended to. Drinks were on the pricier side, with mine costing around $16-18, though it was tasty. I can't recall the name of the drink, but I think it had butter in it. Overall: While I enjoyed the experience and the delicious taro puffs, I heard getting into this location can be difficult. I arrived at 6:45pm with no line, but by 7:30-8pm, the line was extremely long. Consider arriving early, especially for larger groups or better yet make a reservation.

I was really excited to try this bar, as it's been a while since I've been "out". I figure the Tatsu-Ya brand is so well-liked in Austin, so it shouldn't be a bad experience. Tiki is located at the back of the building behind the bamboo curtain, a short walk from the main S Lamar Rd entrance. There is limited lot parking, but also nearby apartment/retail parking garages. It's dark, so be prepared to use phone flash lights to read both drink & food menus. They provide physical menus, but a QR one is also available. I'm sure the place was more quiet on an early Sunday evening than it might be late on Friday or Saturday. We were able to hear each other just fine. I ordered the Painkiller cocktail, which was recommended by the server based on my preferences of lighter on booze + sweet not citrusy. It was perfect! Not too strong and refreshing. For food, we shared the Taro Tots, Spam Musubi, Kalua Pork, and Aburi Rice. I had a small bite of the Musubi, which was yummy. The Pork comes with lettuce wraps and a slew of toppings that all mesh well together. And my favorite was definitely the Aburi Rice, which comes with Nori (refills by request). The tuna pieces were fresh and the rice was perfectly seasoned and crispy! I'm still thinking about it. These were followed by my #2, the taro tots. The aioli vibe dip was wonderful and the taro great as well. Overall, special experience - just wish they had more food options. The three of us didn't leave hungry, however.

Tiki Tatsuya is truly Rainforest Cafe for adults! You will not find a more fun and immersive bar experience in the entire city, maybe even the entire country. From the moment you step through the waterfall hallway this place makes you feel transported. Throughout your entire visit you'll be in awe of the detail and flair in every aspect of this place: the storybook-like illustrated menus, the "backstory" of the island experience playing in the bathrooms, and best of all, the light and sound extravaganzas that shake the restaurant every so often when a special drink is ordered. Speaking of drinks, the cocktails here are as incredible in taste as they are in presentation! You'll want to order the whole menu to see the fascinating and fun ways these drinks are brought to you. And if you have a cool waiter (shoutout to Elijah) you might even be treated to one of their secret off-menu creations. Tiki Tatsuya has rightfully earned all the hype it's received since opening in 2021. If you haven't been, you're missing out, and if you have, I'm sure you'll agree that it's worth many a return visit! The magic of this spot never fades.

Our friends in the city took us here since they really like this place and I can see why . Fun drinks , a very tropical vibe and good food -it has all the ingredients for a captivating evening . The place was emptyish when we arrived on account of it being a Monday evening and hence we were seated immediately and our orders taken right away . The menu is extensive, offering a range of cocktails from low-alcohol options to more spirit-forward selections as you progress through the pages. We sampled a variety of cocktails and were pleased with most of them. Although the food options were limited that day, what we did try was enjoyable. I believe this is more a cocktail place than a restaurant. The staff was decently helpful, offering good service , I wouldn't really call them friendly but they were alright. Parking is on the street and I heard that on busy evenings it can be hard to find.

A Tropical Escape in the Heart of the City If you're craving an escape from the ordinary, Tiki Tatsuya is the place to be. From the moment you step through the door and walk down the stairs, you're transported to another world, surrounded by jungle like decor and exotic vibes. Reservations are a must, so heads up here! Also parking is very limited, we had to do street parking and walked 5 min to the place. No big deal. Now, let's talk about the real stars of the show: the drinks. Each one is a masterpiece of creativity, and depending on your choice, you might just get a full-blown performance alongside your cocktail. While these concoctions are on the pricier side, the experience they provide is truly unforgettable. I ordered the Strip 'n go Naked $15 and it came with no performance - just to give you an idea on the pricing! I loved my drink, so delicious - tropical and sweet. Would've probably ordered a second one but glad I didn't because the food wasn't as filling. The food is decent but limited in options. If you're famished, you might find yourself spending more than you anticipated. There were 6 of us and we ordered a "Pu Pu Platter" to share and it felt like an appetizer, when it was advertised as an entree. It's a lot for one person, perfect for two, beyond that I'd consider adding another platter but then again, $$$. So because we were still hungry my husband and I placed an order of a Kalua Pork and Taro Tots and it that was better for just the both of us. We loved the Taro Tots but the portion was very small. The Kalua Pork was decent - you basically made yourself pork shoulder lettuce wraps This place is definitely more about the drinks than the dining experience. With only one cocktail each, splitting up the platter and the extra items we had, plus tip and all, we spent $125..and we weren't full full and we could've eaten and drank more. In summary, Tiki Tatsuya is a must-visit for anyone looking for a unique and immersive drinking experience. Just don't expect to fill up on the food alone.

I love tiki rooms! This is my best of the best!! Every inch is tiki culture. It begins by finding the front door. Let's just say it's not in the front :) Do not give up your search in Austin's urban jungle! Fun awaits for landlubbers, pirates and mermaids! We ordered the Pearl Diver and the mai tai. I left pics above as it's been a week since we visited. Ok, anyhoo we order the PuPu platter and spam masubi. The drinks are perfect!!! The food is exactly what to expect at a tiki room. I would make the same order again! Maybe add a rice dish. The fun part. This place is epic. Inside it's a lot energy, especially when a large bowl drink is ordered. Lots of thunder, some fire and great elaborate announcements! Great playlist! I cannot wait to get back to Austin and head over!!!
